Terms & Conditions
Version 2026-10-26. The identical text is shown in full inside the Google Play app, which requires acceptance before play.
Play safely. This game is played by walking in the real world. Never play while driving or crossing roads, and never enter private property to reach something in the game.

2. What Weird World is
A location-based game. You walk real streets to open loot crates, fight monsters, capture real-world buildings on an in-game map, take on missions and join clans. Walking is measured by GPS and, if you allow it, by your device's step counter. This is the Google Play edition: it uses no wallet, no cryptocurrency, no tokens and no NFTs. It shares one map with the other editions of the game, so players of every edition can see and capture the same buildings.
3. You must be 18 or older
The game is for adults.
4. Your account
- You start as a guest. A guest account is tied to a key kept on your device: uninstall the app or clear its data without signing in with Google, and that account cannot be recovered.
- Sign in with Google to keep your account across reinstalls and devices. We receive a Google account identifier from Google, never your password; we do not keep your email address.
- Purchases are tied to the Google account that paid for them. If you reinstall without signing in, Google Play lets us restore them to your new account, at most once a day.
- A Google Play edition account and an account in another edition of the game are separate players. They cannot be merged, and items do not move between them.
5. Real-world safety — your responsibility
- Never play while driving, cycling or operating machinery.
- Watch your surroundings. Traffic, kerbs, water and construction sites do not appear on the game map.
- Do not trespass. Nothing in the game grants permission to enter private property or restricted areas.
- Obey local laws and signage, and respect other people's privacy and peace.
- You play at your own risk. A route on the map is not a statement that it is safe, legal or passable.
6. Capturing a building grants no real rights
Capturing is a game mechanic tied to map data. It gives you no ownership, tenancy, licence, access right or any other legal interest in the real building or its land, and no right to enter it. Building geometry comes from third-party map data and may be wrong or outdated.
7. Photos and clan logos you upload
- A photo you attach to a capture, and a clan logo, can be seen by every other player and is served at a public web address.
- You must have the right to use it, and taking it must have been lawful where you were.
- No identifiable people without consent, no private interiors, nothing sexual, hateful, unlawful or infringing.
- Every upload is checked automatically for sexual content before it is stored. The check runs on our own server; no outside service sees your image. If the check itself fails, the image goes up unchecked, and we remove it when it is reported to us.
- You grant us a licence to store and display it in the game for as long as the capture or clan exists. When you replace a photo or logo, only the new one is shown; the old file stays in our storage. Deleting your account deletes the photos on your buildings; a clan logo stays with the clan.
- We remove content that breaks these rules, and repeated or serious breaches are handled under section 8.
8. Fair play and how we enforce it
Faking your location (GPS spoofing), automating movement or gameplay, modified clients, running several accounts to farm rewards and bug exploitation are prohibited. Walking passes and hero perks are the only sanctioned way to play without walking.
- Automatic checks only ever withhold a reward. Movement faster than walking pace without a pass, jumps of hundreds of metres, very poor GPS accuracy, and steps beyond the daily limits earn nothing: step rewards stop at 2,000 Sparks a day, steps with no GPS movement behind them count up to 3,000 a day, and a Health Connect catch-up counts at most 30,000 steps per day of the gap. They never cost you progress or your account on their own.
- Anything beyond a withheld reward is decided by a person, never by an algorithm, and follows these steps: (1) a warning; (2) removal of the rewards gained by the breach and a suspension of up to 30 days; (3) permanent removal of the account from our servers. Fraud against other players, illegal content and threats may skip straight to step 3.
- We tell you in the app which rule was broken and what we did.
- Appeal: email us within 30 days of the decision, naming your username. A person reviews it and replies within 14 days, and we reverse the decision if we got it wrong.
9. What you buy and what you earn
- Bought through Google Play: heroes, and where offered, Sparks packs, walking passes and premium looks.
- Earned in play: Sparks, resources, gear, relics and hero XP.
- Everything you buy or earn is a licence to use game content in your account, not property. It has no monetary value, cannot be sold, transferred to another player or cashed out, and pays out nothing. There are no cryptocurrency or token rewards in this edition.
- We may rebalance prices, rewards and drop rates. We never do it retroactively to take away something you already hold.
10. Payments and refunds
- Purchases are made through Google Play Billing, under Google Play's terms. Google processes the payment; we never see your card or payment details. Prices are shown by Google Play in your currency and include any taxes Google collects.
- Refunds are handled by Google under the Google Play refund policy. If a purchase is refunded or charged back, what it granted is removed from your account; Sparks already spent from a refunded pack may leave your balance negative until earned back.
- If a purchase was charged but did not arrive, open the Heroes screen to restore it, or email us with your Google Play order number (it starts with GPA.).
11. Intellectual property
The game, its code, artwork, models and branding remain ours or our licensors'. Map data and 3D building geometry come from third parties under their own licences. You keep the rights to your photos and logos, subject to the licence in section 7.
12. Availability and liability
The game is provided "as is", without warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation. We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health; for slight negligence only for breach of an essential contractual obligation, limited to foreseeable typical damage. German Product Liability Act claims are unaffected. Otherwise liability is excluded — in particular for your conduct in the physical world under section 5.
13. Right of withdrawal
EU consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal. Digital content is delivered the moment a purchase completes: by confirming a purchase you expressly consent to immediate performance and acknowledge loss of that right per § 356 (5) BGB. Google Play's own refund policy still applies.
14. Changing or ending the game, and your account
- We may change features. Before we discontinue the game, or Sparks, we will announce it in the app at least 30 days in advance.
- You may stop playing at any time, and delete your account yourself in Settings → Delete my account, or at weirdworld.net/delete-account. Section 16 says what that erases and what it keeps.
- German law applies, jurisdiction Berlin, to the extent permitted. Mandatory consumer protections of your country remain unaffected.
15. Permissions the app asks for
- Precise location — the whole game. Read only while the app is open on screen, to place you on the map, find nearby crates and monsters, and verify that walking rewards were actually walked. The app never asks for background location. You can instead play from a city you pick (Settings → Use my location).
- Physical activity and Health Connect — step count, distance, and exercise sessions (only running is used). Off until you say yes: the game asks you once, in its own words, before any permission prompt or any read. Read on your phone while the app is open; only step totals for a time window and the distance of runs are sent to us, never the individual records. Health Connect keeps the history itself, so on opening the app we read back up to 7 days — but never to before the moment you turned step sharing on. Used only for step goals, step rewards, run missions, and your lifetime steps on the steps leaderboard and your clan's roster; never for advertising. Decline it and everything else still works (Settings → Share step data).
- Camera — only when you choose to photograph a building you are capturing, or use an AR view.
- Photo library — only the image you pick for a capture or a clan logo.
- You can refuse or later revoke any of these in Android settings or the Health Connect app. Refusing one disables only the feature it serves.
16. Your data and your rights
Controller: 3D Print Corner · Anastasiia Miroshnichenko, Ehrenbergstraße 8, 10245 Berlin, Germany (coffeeonchainsol@gmail.com). The Privacy Policy linked below is the full account; this is the summary.
- What we hold: your account id (a device-generated key), a Google account identifier if you sign in with Google, display name and username, game progress, Sparks ledger, your Google Play purchase records, captured buildings and their coordinates, walking distance, daily step and running totals, photos and logos you upload, friends and clan membership, and crash reports if you allow them.
- Location is not kept as a history: the last walking position is forgotten 24–48 hours after you stop walking, and locations hidden in crate and monster records after 48–72 hours. Crash reports are deleted after 14–15 days.
- Who processes it for us: Netlify (hosting and image storage), Neon (database), Fly.io (the event-room server, in memory only), Mapbox (maps), Google (Google Play Billing, and Google sign-in if you use it), Expo (app builds). Route planning and building-site checks are answered by public OpenStreetMap services (routing.openstreetmap.de, the Overpass API). Some operate outside the EEA, under standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
- Who sees what: other players see your name, hero, clan, your captured buildings, your stats on your clan's roster and, unless you turn it off, your leaderboard standing. Inside an event room you chose to join, its members see your live position and your room messages; nobody else sees your live position, and nobody sees where you walked.
- Deleting your account (Settings, or weirdworld.net/delete-account) immediately erases your name, your Google sign-in link, walking positions, step and walking history, the photos on your buildings, and your progress; locations hidden in crate records follow within 48 hours, as for everyone. We keep your account id with its Sparks ledger and crate records, so that deleting and re-registering cannot collect the same rewards twice, and your purchase records for as long as tax law requires. Your captured buildings stay on the map with the name you gave them.
- Your rights: access, a copy of your data, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, and complaint to a supervisory authority (in Berlin, the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit). Email us and we reply within one month.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms — for example when a feature is added. Material changes bump the version and you will be asked to accept again the next time you open the game. The current version and date are shown at the top of this document, and the canonical copy lives at the link below.
