Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026. This policy covers Weird World as distributed on Google Play (package app.weirdworld.play). The edition on the Solana dApp Store and at app.weirdworld.net has its own policy.
Read this first. Weird World is a location-based game. It uses your precise GPS position while the app is open, it can read your step count and runs from Health Connect if you allow it, and it lets you upload photos of real buildings that other players see. This edition uses no wallet, no cryptocurrency and no blockchain. Sections 4, 5 and 6 cover what matters most before you decide to play.
1. Who is responsible
3D Print Corner · Anastasiia Miroshnichenko, Ehrenbergstraße 8, 10245 Berlin, Germany. E-mail: coffeeonchainsol@gmail.com
2. What we never collect
- Your real name, phone number or postal address. If you sign in with Google we receive a Google account identifier; we do not keep your email address
- Passwords or payment details — Google Play handles payments, and we only receive a purchase record (section 3A)
- Your contacts or calendar, or your photo library beyond the one image you pick
- Background location — the app never asks for it
- Individual Health Connect records, heart rate, or any health data other than steps, distance and running sessions
- Advertising identifiers. We run no ads, no analytics SDK and no third-party tracking
3. What we process, and on what legal basis
A. To run the game you asked for — contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
- An account id, generated on your device, that identifies your account
- A Google account identifier, only if you choose Sign in with Google, so you get the same account back after a reinstall
- Display name and username, shown to other players (section 6)
- Precise location, while the app is open: placing you on the map, spawning crates and monsters near you, checking you are close enough to open, fight or capture (section 4)
- Gameplay records: Sparks, resources, gear, heroes, hero XP, crates opened, monsters defeated, missions, walked distance, clan membership, friends, event rooms
- Captured buildings: coordinates, footprint, height, the name you give it, capture time
- Photos and clan logos you upload, displayed on the building or clan to every player
- Google Play purchase records: the product, Google's purchase token and order number, and whether it was granted, acknowledged or refunded — to deliver what you bought, restore it after a reinstall and handle refunds
B. To keep the game fair and working — legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
Our interest is a game whose rewards are earned honestly and an app that does not crash. You may object at any time (section 11).
- Movement checks (speed, distance, GPS accuracy of a walk): refusing rewards for spoofed or driven movement. Checks only ever withhold a reward, never act against your account (Terms §8)
- Account id, Sparks ledger and crate cooldowns after you delete your account: stopping delete-and-re-register from collecting the same rewards twice
- Crash reports (error message, stack trace, app version, OS version, device model, screen name, a per-launch session id, the last 40 app events): finding and fixing crashes. Identifiers and coordinates are removed before sending and again on our server. Settings → Send crash reports
- Image moderation of every upload, on our own server; no outside service sees the image
- IP address: rate limiting, held in memory only
- Leaderboard standing: Settings → Appear on leaderboards
C. Only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and, for step data, Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR)
- Device location permission — withdraw with Settings → Use my location (you then play from a city you pick), or in Android settings
- Step count, distance and running sessions from Health Connect and the step sensor (section 5) — Settings → Share step data, or the Health Connect app
- Camera — photographing a building you capture; AR view
- Photo library — the one image you pick for a building or clan logo
- Sharing your live position in an event room (section 4) — only after you choose Join and share location
4. Location
- Read only while the app is open on screen. The app does not request background location and runs no background location task.
- Your position is sent to our server when something depends on it: loading what is around you on the map, opening a crate, fighting a monster, capturing a building, a mission step, and — every few seconds during a walk with a walking pass — validating the walk.
- We do not keep a history of where you have been. The last position of a walk is forgotten 24 hours after you stop walking; locations implied by crate and monster records are overwritten after 48 hours.
- Your live position is never shown to other players, except inside an event room you chose to join.
- When you plan a route, its start and destination go to the public OpenStreetMap routing service (routing.openstreetmap.de); when you place a building, the area around it is looked up in the public Overpass API. Mapbox receives the map area you are viewing, like any map app.
Event rooms
Event rooms are optional, temporary rooms at real-world places such as a conference or a meetup. Nothing is shared until you choose Join and share location. While you are in a room, everyone in it sees your live position (about every 3 seconds), your in-game name, your hero's appearance and the messages you send there. Live positions and room chat are held only in the memory of our room server; they are never written to a database or to logs, and they are gone when you leave, when the room ends (at most 12 hours) or when the server restarts. Joining needs your real GPS position inside the event area. You can mute, block and report; a reported message is kept for 30 days for review. Hosting a room costs Sparks.
5. Health Connect and physical activity
- If you allow it, Weird World reads Steps, Distance and Exercise sessions (only running sessions are used) from Android Health Connect, and the phone's step sensor while the app is open.
- Off until you say yes. The game asks you once, in its own words, before any Android permission prompt and before anything is read.
- What for, and nothing else: step goals, step rewards, run missions, and your lifetime steps on the steps leaderboard and your clan's roster.
- Read on your phone. Only totals leave it: a step count for a time window, and the distance of runs. Individual records, session timestamps, heart rate and any other health data are never sent to us.
- Health Connect keeps its own history, so we read back up to 7 days — but never to before the moment you turned step sharing on.
- Never used for advertising, never sold, never used to decide credit, insurance or employment, and never shared except with the processors that host our database (section 8).
- Turn it off with Settings → Share step data, or revoke the permission in the Health Connect app.
- Weird World's use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
6. Who can see what
- Other players see your username or display name, hero level, class and appearance, clan, your leaderboard rank (unless you turn off Appear on leaderboards), your lifetime Sparks in the player list, your stats on your clan's roster, the buildings you captured with the name and photo you gave them, and — inside an event room you joined — your live position and room messages.
- Anyone on the internet can see building photos and clan logos, which are served at public web addresses.
- Nobody sees your live position outside an event room, where you have walked, your step history, or whether you are online.
7. Purchases
Purchases are processed by Google Play under Google's own privacy policy. We receive the product you bought, Google's purchase token and order number, and later whether it was refunded. We never receive your card, bank or billing details.
8. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. These providers process it on our behalf or answer requests the app sends them directly:
- Netlify — hosting of our game API and image storage: every request to our server, including its IP address; uploaded photos and logos
- Neon — our database: everything in section 3 that we store
- Fly.io — our event-room server: room membership, live positions and room chat, in memory only
- Mapbox — map tiles and 3D buildings; finding a city you type: the map area you view, the city name you type, your IP address
- Google — Google Play Billing for purchases, and Google sign-in if you use it, under Google's privacy policy
- OpenStreetMap routing (FOSSGIS) — route start and destination
- Overpass API — the coordinates of an area being checked for a building
- Expo (EAS) — building the app; no player data
We disclose data to authorities only where the law requires it.
9. International transfers
Several providers above process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or on an adequacy decision (including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified).
10. How long we keep it
- Your last walking position: 24–48 hours after you stop walking
- Locations implied by crate and monster records: 48–72 hours, then overwritten
- Walk start and end points: until the walk ends; 48 hours after its last update if the app was closed mid-walk
- Mission starting point: until the mission is finished or expires
- Walk speed records (no coordinates): 30 days
- Crash reports: 14–15 days
- Event-room live positions and chat: only while the room runs; reported messages 30 days
- Account, progress, step and running totals, friends, Google sign-in link: until you delete your account
- Building photos: until you delete your account
- Clan logos: for as long as the game operates
- Account id, Sparks ledger, crate cooldowns, captured buildings (coordinates and name, without your photos): for as long as the game operates, including after account deletion (section 3B)
- Google Play purchase records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires, including after account deletion
11. Your controls and your rights
In the app: Settings → Privacy has Use my location, Share step data, Appear on leaderboards and Send crash reports. Settings → Delete my account erases, immediately, your name and username, Google sign-in link, walking positions, step, running and walking history, the photos on your buildings, missions, wardrobe, gear, friends, clan membership and all progress. What section 10 lists as kept after deletion stays. See weirdworld.net/delete-account.
By email: you have the right to access your data and receive a copy, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Write to coffeeonchainsol@gmail.com naming your username. We reply within one month.
You may complain to a supervisory authority — ours is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit) — or to the one where you live.
12. Children, security and automated decisions
The game is for players aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if we learn that we have, we delete it. Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and the app does not allow its data to be included in device backups. Our anti-cheat checks decide automatically whether a walk or step count earns a reward; that is their only effect, and any action against an account is decided by a person (Terms §8).
13. Changes
When we change what we collect or why, we update this page and its date first. Changes that need your agreement are shown in the app before they take effect.
